So many memories

Created by Gladys 3 years ago

We first got to know Clive and Avril when I started teaching at Golden Hillock School.  They gave me daily lifts to and from school - and that was the start of a long friendship as they showed typical kindness and generosity to a young probationary teacher.

A random election of Memories: "Oliver" at Golden Hillock; dropping Melanie off at nursery; house-warming at Station Road, with our first-born in a carry cot upstairs; more parties; concerts at the Town Hall and then Symphony Hall with the wonderful Canoldir; piano lessons for our sons; Adrian and Clare's wedding; other special celebrations; kipper breakfasts; curries at Lloyds.

Over the years, we have watched the love which Clive and Avril shared with each other and with their family.  They still found time to share love and friendship with so many.  Clive was generous with his time and talents and gave encouragement to so many amateur and also professional musicians starting off on their career. We were privileged to be present as many made their debut at Symphony Hall and Bryn Terfel (now Sir Bryn) was particularly memorable.  It was also through Clive we got to know Derek and Myf Kimberley who were great supporters of the Canoldir and good friends to Clive and Avril.

Thanks for the memories. Clive.  Rest in peace.
