A TRIBUTE TO A DEAR FRIEND: CLIVE GRIFFITHS M.B.E. Dear Clive you were truly a legend, a Welshman so proud, a true Taff. A conductor with warmth, dedication, loved your music, but also a laugh. You inspired the men of Canoldir, showed courage at times, true grit. You got the best of the bass and top tenors with not only your skill, but you wit. You'll be missed and that is quite certain; as a husband, a father, a friend. Though ill health took its toll, you kept smiling, such bravery, yes to the end. What a team you and Avril presented, with your children both there in support: proud Melanie and Adrian a credit with whom clearly you had a rapport. What a life, full of joy and achievement, so well lived, you deserved the M.B.E. Rest in peace my old pal, here's your secret: just being yourself, that's the key.

You can shed tears that he has gone, or you can smile because he lived. You can close your eyes and pray he will come back, or you can open your eyes and see all that he has left. Your heart can be empty because you can't see him, or you can be full of all the love that he shared. You can turn your back on tomorrow and live for yesterday or you can be happy for tomorrow because of yesterday. You can remember him and only that he is gone or you can cherish his memory and let it live on. You can cry and close your mind, be empty and turn your back, or you can you can do what he would want.
